A rapid transportation network is the key factor for the economic development and urbanization. Hsinchu City aims to build a convenient transportation system in order to create a comfortable living environment and a prosperous city.

Hsinchu City mainly depends on highways (e.g. Zhong Shan super highway & the second super highway) and railways to connect other cities, so it is very convenient to transport necessities for trade. It takes about 40 minutes by car to Chiang-Kai Shek International Airport; 60 minutes to Taipei and Taichung; 2 hours if going north from the Science Park to Keelung port; and about 1 hour if going south to Taichung port. The railways can go to all the major cities in Taiwan. After the completion of the high speed railway, it will take 20 minutes from Hsinchu to Taipei.
