  Hsinchu is a high-tech city which has sufficient water resources, neat and tidy city view, and 65 different sizes of parks, therefore it is the most suitable place to live.

The city government also promotes the 17 kilometer-long costline tourism which includes a water sports zone, a sea-sight park, an educational museum for environmental protection, a park of sailing boats, the Mei-shan blue coast, a sea-view platform in Hai-Shan fish port and etc. The eight most beautiful tourist spots selected by Hsinchu citizens are: Nanliao Fishery Harbor, Green Grass Lake, The Moat Water Park, The Bamboo Lake, Gangnan Canal, Hsingchu Zoo, Eighteen Peaks Mountain, and Gu Qi Feng. All these spots provide the excellent space for relaxation and activities.

Moreover, the North Gate Main Street, Light Column in the Science Park, East Gate Round About, Hsingchu City Government Hall, New Swan Castle, Sight Seeing Platform in the City View Road and the Suspension Bridge of the Tian Gon Temple are the under-schemed 'Zhu Chian eight Night Spots', and are all good places for walking and enjoying night view of the city.



The city government also plans to expand the original narrow roads in the city in order to keep a smooth traffic. Besides, the city government is now promoting the 'Project of City Greenbelt & Comprehensive Use of City Space', such as building 'South Eighteen Steep Hills Walking Routes' in Nan-Gan region, conducting the roads to be repaired and constructed along Ke-Ya stream, and strengthening the relationship and the interaction among sister cities in America, Japan and other countries. The newly built incinerator, which costs NT$3.6 billion, can process 900 tones of garbage per day and effectively clean the domestic and industrial wastes in Hsinchu City.
